Accurately weighing is tough. Weighing the reservoir before and after the autofill is triggered might be the best way. Weighing the milk jug is easiest but you also weigh the air. I was surprised how much water increases in weight when it is carbonated, it gained about 6g.

I can’t tell if you are joking or not. I can inflate a balloon, and the balloon’s weight will be no different whether it’s inflated or not. (I actually tried it).

Why would it be different with aerated milk?

Assuming it’s “air” at something close to boiler pressure (3 bar) but atmospheric temp (25 °C), which is the ‘maximum’ density (lowest temp in the possible range, highest pressure). This is about 3.5 mg/cm³ - or adding about 0.6 grams to my 180 ml…

Nope, not kidding. Weighed 500g of distilled water on scales accurate to 0.1g, using an isi cream whipper (without the lid) screwed the lido on and used a couple of CO2 cartridges to carbonate it, depressurised, took the lid off and re-weighed and it had dissolved 6g of about 14g CO2 used in the shaker.

It’s never something I’d considered with milk but thought it may have some minimal effect, obviously not tough.

DavecUK I try that too, but if I’m huffing and puffing when I inflate them with the pump I fear CO₂ concentration may change that 78% down to 77% or so…

😊 - as I never know if people are serious or not, I used my aero latte and trebled the volume of 100g of milk inside a mug.

Milk in liquid form weight as it was poured out of the fridge: 100.00g.

Aerated milk weight, trebled in volume: 100.00g.

Rob1 - interesting for sure Rob! Maybe it’s because it’s pure CO2 rather than a mixture of mainly oxygen and nitrogen (I.e: the air we breathe)?

After Covid rendered drinking coffee pointless for a month (lost my sense of taste and smell), firing up the Evo was like reconnecting with an old friend.

Using some Brazilian natural beans with group temp at 93c and pulling shots at my go to time of 25-27 secs, felt there was some faint bitter notes so dropped the temp by two degrees and kept everything else the same. Bitter notes gone.

Being able to tweak brew temps is a game changer.

I I took the group apart again, switching to the original inner spring. (#Iliketoexperiment) The nut that holds the springs needs to go al the way up. And the piston goes all the way up to the nut&ring that hold the springs. If not, the piston will push through the shower screen when assembled. No room for tweaking there. So there is no need to count threads.

Apologies - this is not meant to be a grammar nazi remark, but I see you writing this consistently, and while it’s funny, in other circumstances it may cause problems…

A (screw) thread is the mechanical part. A threat is a danger or a menace - something dangerous that may be about to happen (“Covid is a threat to your health”).

NelisB i dont like the 10.5 bar. I installed the non-stainless spring delivering a nice 8.3 bar max together with the outer spring.

Django Burundi Businde - Medium Dark

Another one darker than described.

Nice coffee - both as milk and black. The bag is full of fruity aroma. First dial, need to loosen the grind a bit and a bit more WDT TLC would also be good. Not a great fan of this WDT routine.

Packs raspberry fruit, medium acidity and blueberry to finish (inc after taste). The only issue for me is it is too dark for me.
