Enquired on pricing for this yesterday, can’t find any pricing online. I think at the moment my eye is on this or the Profitec 800. Of course quite different machines and I imagine the ACS will be significantly more expensive.

Just had the message AL11 show up which means low water. However, the tank was full. After taking the top off I saw that the middle wire that attaches to a shield spade connector had become detached. The wire which is the low water sensor, is quite thin, was out of the plastic connector which was still attached to the other connector

The problem is that these connectors are not designed to be reused. I think the spade connector is attached then pushed into the plastic shield which grips it to stop it being pulled out. As I didnt have a new shielded connector I thought I’d just attach 2 standard spades to get it working. I put a small cable tie around the tube where it passes through the hole in the stainless sheet on the other side of the tank to stop it being pulled when I fill the tank. Seems to have worked.

I will try and get a male shielded spade cover to to do a complete job but just have to get an identical size so it will fit the female one on the machine. I think the part of the original connector that grips the covered part of the wire was not crimped hard enough - which did look tricky as it is a very thin gauge wire, so was able to be pulled out when I removed the tank for cleaning.

Stevebee Was this a connector inside the tank or one that’s not in the water? It sounds like it’s one in the machine…so any spade will do, shielded or not, as only 5V or so goes through the wire. As long as the connector can’t short against anything else. To temporarily shield and support the connector you have used…a small blob of hot melt glue should work well.

DavecUK Yes it was the one in the machine. The spade I used goes fully inside the female one, which is still shield so I am sure it’s not able to contact anything and the cable tie I used on the outer tube seems to keep it in a fixed position.

Stevebee From the sounds of it, a reasonable blob of hot melt glue, and it will all be good.

I will probably post for sell all my gear, lever, bentwood, niche, that is why I was so quiet about coffee lately, focusing on something else, and my attention for coffee drifted to only roasting/cupping and brewing to be able to evaluate what I roast. My plan is to master roasting and then move only into micro lots of coffees I like to explore.

I already considered moving my stuff to Norway but it’s not worth it for many reasons not only because I have to ship them there but also take into account moving them back in 3-4 years whent he contract ends . If someone is interested or knows anyone in Eu or near Vienna, let me know (will post a selling offer soon).

The machine is coming with all the stock stuff plus a bunch of extra stuff, such as 3 ims baskets, bravo tamper, bplus, and other extra stuff (cleaning, cups) everything must go. For more than 1 item we can talk a better price.

Have you played with the profiles?

I have stuck with P1 and so far I enjoy it greatly.

John_Yossarian I’ve been delighted with it so far. I’m yet to start properly experimenting with it, although I have done some unscientific experimenting with the profiles. Biggest discovery has been how forgiving it is of a newbie who is bluffing his way through setting grind size, pup prep and when to stop the shot. Despite having little experience I’ve been making better than adequate espresso since day one. I even tried some supermarket Lavazza beans that I had left over and even those produced decent espresso.
