No need to worry about insulting my technical prowess. I’m an amateur.
I do have the line regulated to a reasonable pressure. I previously had a machine on the same line for 15 years, so was “just” swapping out hoses of different size to an existing setup. While I’m going through all of this, might as well put a regulator on the line.
Anyway, I did go back to check, and as Dave commented, if there was originally a gasket, fibre or otherwise on the ½″ side, it was no longer there. There were a couple loose in the accessory bag, so those were likely intended to be used.
