Managed to find the correct tap, it’s ¼” x 19 TPI, with any of the following designations: G, BSP, BSPF, BSPP, if anyone needs it.

Also, the piston rubber seal was completely hardened, I’ve replaced it with the spare supplied with the machine, but I would like to source spare ones, possibly made out of silicone rubber, any pointers?

Looking for some advice. I will be (finally) plumbing my machine to a fixed water supply. Got a Brita C50 filter and did some hardness testing to know what by-pass to set it to.

Apart from setting the machine to plumbed (F04 = 1), is there something else I should do or look out for?

That should do it.

That makes the inlet solenoid active so it opens and fills the tank when the low water signal is received.

Ensure your filtered pipe for pump delivery is in the bottom of the tank.

id suggest the fill float should be approx 60mm above the bottom of the tank . That way you are carrying enough but not too much “stagnant” water in the tank.

I have 1=120

5=32

Be careful not to have the fill float too high or you will carry too much water and maybe flood the place!!!

What did you do with your external watertank and tubing/sensor. Anything specific?

Not sure what you mean. I just have inline filter regulated to 2 bars as i already had that. Regulator not strictly required. Thats direct to the machine with inline flow meter.

Filter is everpure claris ultra fwiw.

Unless tou are going to swap out the pump for a solenoid any bypass the tank, then the internal tank is still in use, just filled from the mains instead of a jug!!

Adrianmsmith yeah, I meant bypassing the external tank. But since I have been using it, I was curious what to do with it. I guess just cleaning and drying it en leaving the pickup- and return tube and the sensor in it.

I was not planning on using a pressure regulator since the pressure is not that high here in the Netherlands.

So, the evo in its standard configuration without swapping out the pump for a solenoid still uses the tank. Im assuming what i am calling the internal tank, you are referring to as the external tank.

The mains water simply keeps the water level in the tank and the pump still draws from the tank thats why i suggested having the level probe 60mm or so from the bottom of the tank .

You cant feed the mains water directly to the pump if that is what you are thinking.

Im still guessing what you mean. maybe i need more coffee today 😎

Or the plastic tank behind the left panel? In this case you mean the mains will fill this plastic tank and the machine will pump water from it?

Yes

It just means you do not fill it with a jug any more!! It is filled for you.

If you want i will make a video for you on friday. Im away from home at the moment.

Its really simple.

The only thing you need to do to the machine is connect the water pipe and change the setting to activate the solenoid.

Everytging else stays the same.

When i think about it i empty and clean the plastic tank but this is maybe 6 times a year. It stays really clean.

You will see in your plastic tank you have a 3rd water line from the solenoid . It is not currently used this is what will fill the tank from the mains.

Project finished! Works a treat :). The idea of not having to fill the tank (and moving the whole machine since it sits in a corner) is really a nice to have!

The filter sits nicely in the cabinet below

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted - been enjoying my espressos daily for months! Unfortunately the dreaded day has come where something has happened to my machine and I’m hoping it’s something super common/simple to resolve. I’ve emailed the ACS team, but thought I’d check in with you all here.

Machine: ACS Evo Leva 2

Turned the machine on today, like I have for months. Maybe 15min into heating, I started smelling a hint of burning - like electrical (when you solder sometimes). Smell kept coming and going for a few minutes. Then I heard a “poof”, a small amount of black smoke emitted from the rear right top of the machine, power shut off, and it triggered my circuit breaker.

I’ve since unplugged it, and turned off the power switch next to the power resevoir.

Does anyone have thoughts or past posts they could point me to to hopefully resolve this issue?

ddoonie I had an issue with the float sensor wire which was disconnecting frequently. It created some issues. Thanks to Paolo, I replaced the float sensor and the fuse on the board. I would check float sensor wire, power cord and fuse. I did not have a burning smell.

The first thing to do is remove the top and have a look around. Especially the limit stat!

The second thing would be to examine the point the mains cord enters the machine and any receptacle.

Thanks LMSC, i’m plumbed in, so shouldn’t be the float sensor, but will take a look there.

DavecUK, will take a look for sure at the internals. Externally - receptacle and where the cord enters the machine appear to be unharmed or presenting any issue.

Not that it will be the float sensor, im just curious of the statement .

Float sensor comment, my lack of knowledge i’m sure, was more so related to usage of it and it malfunctioning from that point, but of course anything is possible.

Got some pictures of the machine, and looks like it’s where all the wires that are joined, and stored. Any clue what could have caused this? Will send the pics off to ACS as well.
