With a blind basket does your pressure hold steady and the lever stay put or does the lever rise and the pressure drop

This morning I put the blind sleeve piston assembly back in and brought to temperature. No leaks, no noises.

I pulled water out with no portafilter in, again, no apparent leaks.

With a blind basket in, I pulled the lever and immediately had leaking from the following circled location:

It is just adjacent to the brew boiler beneath that red cap. I can't tell if it is coming from the valve or the lines. There is a visible bead of water that indicates the location.

This time, I had starting pressure of around 10 bars, which slowly bled away and the lever creeps up. I did make a couple of changes from the last testing. I switched to using the tank water supply and I had the blind basket full of water before pulling.

What do you mean by switched to the tank water supply.

Without fairly major mods from standard you are always using the tank water supply. Not that that really matters of makes s difference to this situation.

Been meaning to say. Love the colour of this evo.

Thanks! I still love the color even if it doesn't really go with the tile.

Switched to manual fill only. Previously used plumbed in (to the tank). Just wanted to simplify one more variable while testing. No, it shouldnt make a difference as all water goes through the tank.

I can't visualize the red capped valve very well, looks like a solenoid body from above, but I have no idea.

Here is a higher perspective:

Dave, I simply could not tell if the leak was coming from the box/red cap or the metal elbow next to it. I could see water landing on the pipe but neither was terribly accessible from above with a hot machine.

It looks like a similar leak Jake and I had on the steam-side of the elbow, unless the elbow is underneath the pressure transducer (which I doubt).

Edit:

You may want to trace the leak to the origin - from brew boiler, pressure transducer, …, and where does the supply go. If it’s to the group, does it explain the lower shot volume? In any case, you need to fix that. 😊

Can this be down to a faulty non return valve also because the volume of water missing seems to suggest an easy to spot leak and larger puddles if its just a leak.

Not really, once the water is in the group, it's in there…the group has a valve that closes and once the piston is moving the only other place it can sensibly come out is via the drip tray, if the electronic release solenoid isn't sealing properly. However it it was almost closing there would be a buzzing sound and if it was more open, there would never be a rise to pressure. I don't know if the OP has even seen water going into the drip tray when pulling against a blind filter? There is a complete lack of good diagnostic information, all I have to work with is.

It's leaking under the machine, unknown volume, unknown if it does it every time?
A wobbly switchy zoom in and out video I cannot view properly …It would be better done on YT as unlisted and the camera held steady showing both electronic and analogue gauges with shot pressures

Cuprajake On domestic machines yes, unless workers at the factory are using something else when they shouldn't. There was one guy who always knew better than anyone else, who I suspected might be, but he no longer works there.

An alternative to thread locker and usual PTFE, very useful in small and fine threads

Wondering if anyone has had this happen on their machine, after I end the shot, I get a slight hum, for 25 seconds then a click, then the hum stops, would anyone know what it is.

Only just started doing it after having the machine for about eight months.

I tried to put the video on here but it won't go on.

Is it v1 or v2

Is it plumbed in . if not check you have not inadvertently set in options f4 to 1. Should be 0 .

If its every shot its not this anyway!! Thinking it could be the fill solenoid.

If its v2 is the shot dumping as it should.

Are the boilers filling as they should.

Is the water suction pipe at the very bottom of the tank

Is the fill float probe oart way up the tank approx 4cm

Its v2, bought October 2024.

Not plumbed in, at the moment its every shot.
