CoyoteOldMan Small numbers and ‘direct to end-user retailing’ help, I think. I hope it stays like this even as numbers of users grow.
Being small creates its own issues, but the advantage is they can be very agile and responsive or even offer more customisation and options at the point of sale. The larger a company is, the longer it takes to do something…because the changes that have to happen within the company are much larger.
e.g. if you are buying a machine direct from a small company you can ask for extra parts, different wands, pay a small amount and this has a good possibility of being done. larger companies cannot deal with this because they are a well oiled operation with specialised packaging and departments etc..
