Hi All I am looking for a mat to protect the top of my espresso machine from cup scratches, etc. I have the following parameters: * a grid or matrix that lets heat through * Quality material that does not emit odour or vapor (toxins) when heated * Material that will not stain or discolor * Washable * Ideally clear, so that we can see the lovely stainless steel beneath * Can be cut to fit Any ideas? I use the mat that's used in food dehydrator. I don’t know if helitape would work, it can be cut to fit, will be durable and let heat through but I don’t know how it will do with heat. The benefit would be that it would be almost invisible.

I just use black grip mat (on a black Minima). I picked it up from Amazon when I bought my machine, but you can get it from B&M if you have one nearby. The one by me does black and grey.

Comes in very handy for other uses too. Like keeping between my set of new non-stick pans to stop them scratching each other in the cupboard etc.
