🤦‍♂️- my mistake, I now read it correctly. I’m tired of the coverage of the lying in state, as it dominated the news for almost two weeks and other important aspects of global affairs got effectively sidelined. But I see nothing wrong with the coverage of the funeral ceremony today. In fact I watched the whole thing. I enjoy the historical and ceremonial aspect and spectacle of such events, same when the late Duke of Edinburgh passed away last year.

I don’t think you need to be a fan of the monarchy or a royalist to have watched it.

MediumRoastSteam I didn’t reply for the funeral today per se, but the long and protracted endless coverage of the last 10 days. In other words the entirety of the funerary event.

I went in work today, we had worked booked in for 2 weeks previous and a customer collecting a car. We closed at lunch.

I should really add, that it is not the funeral itself, but the blanket coverage leading up to the funera followed by the no doubt endless days after the evenl

I’ve avoided most of it but watched a lot of today, missing out the church service. I have to admire the pageantry, the spectacle and the organisation that went into today. Pretty much flawless. Gives you some idea of what would happen if we ever found ourselves at war again. It’s a very militaristic event and shows a lot more than ‘soft’ power. I suspect a lot of deals will have been done and our tourist industry will benefit for years to come. We are very good at these things.
