Since owning the Bianca, it becomes more obvious by the day how advanced and well thought out it is and aimed at the enthusiast. One such discovery is the brew temperature offset. This is a setting available on the PID settings ( not to be confused with the general offset in the technical menu, I believe)
This setting effectively gives the option to keep the heating element on and have a rising temp as you extract ( recommended for lighter roasts) or
Have the element off as the coffee is extracting resulting in a declining temperature during the shot ( suitable for darker roasts, that generally require lower temps). The values in degrees can be set in the PID. A higher value will increase the temp, whilst a lower temp value than the preset will decline the temp towards the maximum value set.Really clever bit of personalization.
