I have a Baratza Virtuoso+. I generally weigh out the amount of coffee beans I want to use, drop them in the hopper, and grind long enough to grind all the beans up. The output weight is consistently within 0.1g with some pulsing and shaking of the grinder. (Single dose, baby! 😉)
The reason I do this is that for some reason I think it’s better to keep the beans sealed in the bag that they come in, rather than putting them in the hopper of the grinder and letting them stay there.
Is that right? Or am I being overly precious about how the beans are stored?
BTW, I’m not going to buy a container just to keep the beans in. The coffee bean bag will be more compact, especially as it gets towards the end.
