Alpesh I also checked how frequently I should flush the service boiler and based on 1 cup per day and 20-25ml water lost to steam (not sure if this is about right) I get a Hardness value of between 21-23 in 31 days which is how frequently I flush the service boiler which I am reading as being about right based on the readings above. Am I interpreting this correctly?
You will see KH increase too, which you need to bear in mind as that will affect how much hardness you can have before scaling. This all should on that page of the spreadsheet. Will have a look later.
I would not add anything to increase alkalinity or hardness. Alkalinity is a little high for my taste but it may be what you want - anywhere between 40-60 would be ok so you’re in the middle of the range. It’s a matter of taste anyway.
Edit: back….
So your result after 30 days is approx 25.5 GH and 102.6 KH….this can’t happen at the temp as you’ll get scale before this.
If you go one day at a time and update the alkalinity value in the table on the right you’ll see the max hardness….check if it is greater than the table on the left…..at some point I will go into the spreadsheet and make it do this automatically. Spoiler: after 7 days losing 30ml per day steaming you will start to get scale forming.
Draing a couple of cups off might mean you can delay completely draining and refilling the boiler e.g drain a cup or two a day and one a month empty and refill completely. You may have to draw more off. Not calculated that but it is possible.
