Idroprep Tamper ?

Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

Is there any scientific merit to this (see the video) or is this yet another gadget, which the vendor is supporting through pseudoscience?

Fyi, I am currently using an EazyTamp, with a 20 lb spring and the thicker version of their base. It comes with a 10, 20 or 30 lb spring. And two flat base sizes. I passed on the curved or patterned bases.

My idea, when I bought it quite some years ago, was that it would automatically tamp level and with the same force every time, thereby eliminating one variable. Interesting though that I yesterday noticed that one of my tamps was not level. Will need to check again.

Am I well set with this tamper, or could I do better?

End up being a bit o a fizzer I think, although it’s possible that it’s just the way I used it.

I passed it on to others in the Coffee Snobs community but not one seemed to get excited by it. Their response was posted in the thread linked to above.
