Can the variables in blends result in significantly lower quality tasting coffee? I should know this really but I don’t so thought I’d ask.
I don’t want to name and shame the roaster but I’ve had many many kilos of a certain South American blend which I enjoy as espresso, flat white and Americano.
The last two bags have been noticeably bad. Almost robusta in flavour. I thought the first batch might just have been old and incorrectly labelled but the second batch I received about two weeks ago is the same. I’ve probably had 20kg of it over the years and it’s one of my favourite coffees.
I’m not sure I’ve bought the same blend this many times before so unsure if it’s just the nature of blended roasts.
