Looks like Bella Barista have stopped selling roasters. I was looking to replace my Gene Cafe. They were the distributor for the Dalian I think. But there are no roasters for sale on their website.

Rodney did mention some time ago that they were considering stopping roasters. I think there are so many good people roasting coffee now, decent roasted coffee is much easier to get and sales of home roasters had dropped significantly.
Yeah, esp with the cost of gas and electric
For me it would cost a fortune to start roasting properly and that buys alot of done beans

I assume it always was and always will be a niche market compared to coffee machines. I obviously have no idea what their business considerations are and assume it wasn’t worth their while, but from a consumer point of view I am sorry to see this happening. They were one of very few sellers in the UK, and it was convenient that they stocked spare parts (they still do, but I fear they now won’t renew once they sell what they have in stock). I am not sure anyone else in the UK stocks those parts.
They also stopped selling green beans right after my first purchase from them, which is a shame because I really enjoyed that coffee. But at least in this respect there are plenty of other places to go to.
Doram I am not sure anyone else in the UK stocks those parts.
I would imagine they will keep the parts side going, they had a long and successful relationship with their suppliers.

Random roasting thoughts…
Power is probably cheaper here in Oz and we have solar and that covers part of the cost. That aside, I save about AU$3,500 a year by roasting my own beans. A few of caveats with that though…
Saving money is not my reason for having a roaster but it’s still a significant benefit
Saving 3.5k assumes buying the same quantity of roasted beans that I buy green when in fact I buy more of the latter than I would have bought of the former. Still quids ahead though, after the first two years when the cost of the roaster was being paid back.
Roasting means taking on a new hobby. There is a bit of a learning curve.
I like roasting because I get to try a wide variety of green beans including from small farms (via a buying group) and play with different roasting depths and styles.
I hadn’t realised until DC mentioned it to me so as a Dalian Amazon owner I have bitten the bullet and ordered a couple of expensive spares whilst they are still available. £193 each for a spare element and drum motor.
Whilst the price of a roaster like this buys a lot of coffee the maths does add up with each passing year. I have roasted maybe 300kg in 6 years now so let’s call that £3000 plus the cost of the roaster. Buying 300kg of roasted beans would have cost I don’t know £6000 to £9000 by now so the price of the roaster is recovered.

There were several sources of roasters in the UK, Not looked for a couple of years but found an agent for these
A coffee roaster google brings up lots of suppliers or roasted beans now,
