I do not know whether we are allowed to point out to an auction site (I assume it should be OK, but it is up to @DavecUK to say) but there is a beautiful combo on this site, La Scala Carmen 1 gr with La Scala grinder (Macap in disguise) for GBP 400 buy it now.
I was so tempted but having a V I had no negotiation ground with my wife so I have just dropped it.

It would make an excellent start for someone who would spend similar amount on a Gaggia Classic (if not more).

The machine sports 4.8 l boiler, has electronic pre-infusion, whatever it means, rotary pump and all the features a professional coffee machine would have.

The guy selling it has listed his number and he offered me to make a demo before picking it up.

The only reason that rule existed on CFUK was to prevent people being alerted to auctions (mainly e-bay) and bidding for items which of course raised the price. This prevented a certain member of CFUK from buying such things cheaply…then selling them on at a profit.

For obvious reasons, I won’t name the member concerned and I am sure no one else will (please)..

So any member here is free to link to items on any auction site…whether they are auction, buy it now, being sold by the member etc.. This forum is non commercial and not here to specifically support members businesses, as it’s run on a free platform (wouldn’t be right). Of course deals and offers that are in members interests are no problem, after all the forum is here to benefit all of us, not a select few!

In fact it is an auction with Buy Now option to it.

I still think it will make a great first step/purchase for someone at this price point.
