I have an Anova Precision vacuum bag sealer, that I use to seal and freeze 2 to 3 day portions of coffee beans, which I then unfreeze and place in single portion sealed jars.
However it overheats fairly quickly and then stops vacuuming (ie no suction) until it cools down. This makes preparing 2 or 3 pounds of rested coffee for freezing a long, tedious chore.
I bought it because it was/is compact, but it is not serving its purpose.
Any suggestions as to vacuum sealing machines that don’t overheat? I don’t need a ton of suction, as I have found that excess vacuum packing (to the extent of creating a “brick” of beans) damages bean flavour. I just need the machine to deliver a constant and long lasting ability to produce suction. And I need to be able to manually stop the suction and then seal the bag, when I’ve removed enough air.
Fyi, I reuse the bags by cutting off the top portion just below the seal. Accordingly I only end up disposing of a small strip of plastic at a time, which I put into recycling.
