MediumRoastSteam The avatar could be replaced with a sleeping face if the user hasn’t posted in the past 6 months, for example.
I will have to check if an extension exists.
Gagaryn You mentioned before that the vast majority of CFUk’s membership never posted, think you said 27k of 28k members were silent. How does that compare with this forum? Looks like we have 900 members, but how many of those have never posted?
That was a business decision of Taits and Glens, we are not a business, so for me it’s unimportant. I actually had to make a mouse macro to delete users. This worked because the attack we were under was a new user every few seconds or minutes. They were easily identifable, so I could set the macro to run all the mouse movements and clicks n times to get a block of users.
To delete members who have never posted would be a purely by hand exercise and take at least a day working all the time as the tools to do this don’t exist….member management tools are primitive.
My concern with the attack was 5,000 users the next morning and the macro running literally for hours to remove them! The impact on Flarums server would have been significant. Apparently other forums were attacked and it caused a real problem as unlike me, they were not straight onto the problem to stop it. I got it stopped at about 200 registrations…other forums had thousands!!
