Mate pretty much everything we use is a copy of an original. Your car, motorbike, washing machine, umbrella … undies … condoms, biscuits, toilet paper… everything.
If I use any of these things, I am using a copy.
Sometimes the copy cats improve things too. Imitation is often the starting point of innovation. Copies of the original, then copies of the copy. Thank God someone copied (and improved) the first espresso machine.

My courses get copied and resold by a new pirate pretty much every week of the year. I’ve moved on.
And TBH the original DF64s are not even a close copy of the P64. Different size, weight, burrs, chute, collar, materials, bellows … declumper.
But yes, some things are a more in your face blatant like the Honne copy of the Versalab grinder. By contrast, much though I like them, the DF is a pale imitation of the P64. The V is closer to the P64 and will likely eat at Lagoms market share.
