Dilemma on the horizon ,have a new kitchen being fitted this year which takes away the room I have atm . Have an old but trusted L1 and compak e10 which I have treasured for many years . Only ever had to have it looked at once by Dave and has also had regular seal replacements. Looks like I'm going to have to downsize only slightly and I'm also wanting a new/newish machine to match new kitchen.(very vain I know). Do love the Lever concept so not really wanting to deviate . Any suggestions much appreciated . Did look at the Londinium site and the new compressa which is smaller than the old L1 . However cannot really find much about it? Cheers Paul

@"PaulStevo"#p45593 Hiya, the Compressa is plumb only Paul. I do not know if that makes it a non starter or not. The L1 is quite small in any case so I think you will find it difficult to find anything much smaller, without stepping down to something like the Olympic Cremina or even the yet to be released Londinium Compact. Not much is known about it really but it is 58mm and might be the answer. Due to significant delays, the original price was expected to be £1000 plus vat but I think it is somewhere around £1560 plus vat now. Of course, if you ditched the lever you would have a lot of choice, but having also owned levers for years, I would also miss not having one!

@"PaulStevo"#p45593 It's a difficult one, **Your old L1 is 533D x 331W x 343H** New LR24 is 540D x 330W x 345H Compressa is 540D x 330W x 345H Looks like the forthcoming Vectis will be the perfect machine for you, unless the 1mm reduction in width is the critical space factor you need to save? It's expensive, but is small and manual fill and allows you to keep with Londinium as a brand if that's what you prefer.

staying in brand the new vectis is due out mid june, £1800 new, theres the argos,but i believe thats in batches. The compressa is same size as the l1, as is an lr24 if you do move away from a lever, which is very hard to do, then id suggest the lelit bianca £1800 as its a great dual boiler, if you wish to spend less then there are a couple machines £1200 range marax or elizabeth or tiny is the puristika from ecm, but you will loose the steaming function with that. grinder wise, if you want to go smaller, theres the new niche duo, or you may get away with a zero same size vurrs as your current grinder, failing that look at the new df64 range theres a cheap solo on bella barista atm

Paul, some real data would be useful. I appreciate that you have not got your new kitchen yet but can we assume the counter depth is the same and it is just the width you are seeking to save on. The E10 (yes, I have had a couple!) is a 68mm conical. Would you like to stay with a conical? If so, then have a look at the Niche Zero. It uses 63mm Mazzer Kony burrs that are a little smaller but offer other advantages including size and no retention. https://www.nichecoffee.co.uk/products/niche-zero

Im more than happy with the E10 and that's staying . It's the machines width I'm mindful of. However I can still adjust counter length . I would say I am more concerned with upgrading to a newer machine. It does not have to be Londinium. As with most things if its been a good servant you tend to stick to the brand and show loyalty ,that's not to say another option would not suffice. Trying to get ahead of the game as the kitchen starts late June for 3 weeks . Paul

Unless the new specs have changed, the dimensions are 510 mm D x 368 mm W x 515 mm H (765 H with lever). I don’t know the specs for Nurri. In the non-lever space, I would pick Bianca. Another choice is small and beautiful Liz.

Evo Leva looks superb and also the Lelit Bianca V3 both are aesthetically beautiful . Im budgeting for around the 2k mark as I'm looking to be using for at least 6 years . Price wise I'm not sure what that gets me ,although looking at above advice I'm not wanting to use a plumb only machine ruling the compressa out. My dimensions are 1300 by 600 as per the quartz piece being fitted . I have no height problems as im having nothing wall mounted cabinet wise. Just boiler being boxed in on the left as picture depicts.

£2k is tricky new, will get more used You're very limited lever wise Personally Bianca, and you can move the water tank to the sides or back.

Strietman or Argos are small levers. The latter will steam too. Just going to be a while before you can get your hands on one.
