thusband The height of the duo is 355mm but I wonder what the overall height is with the lid open? I want to make sure it fits under the cabinet on my counter top.
simonc thusband I have put felt on the feet so I can slide it out to fill, then slide back to grind. Works well.
DavecUK thusband Good idea. No way will the opened lid fit under the cabinet. Unless you reversibly mod it…but I didn’t say that. I also didn’t say that the screw can be removed from the hinge at the rear?
DavecUK thusband Although it might well open enough to get beans in…I’ll do some measurements tomorrow as I have a lowish cabinet.
thusband @“DavecUK” Unless you reversibly mod it…but I didn’t say that. I also didn’t say that the screw can be removed from the hinge at the rear? Right, but doesn’t the lid have that pin that trips the switch so it runs like the Zero? How about popcorning without the lid?
MediumRoastSteam thusband Right, but doesn’t the lid have that pin that trips the switch so it runs like the Zero Yes. You’ll have to get creative. I have a few suggestions in my head: if you remove the hinge pin, you can then just place he lid on top so it activates the microswitch: you can add a a small piece of wood (or whatever other material you can cut Tomazine or mole to size), depress the switch with such material and tape it up there, so, essentially, it’s always depressed and consequently active. thusband How about popcorning without the lid? Even with the lid on, you can place a Jelly Beans jar lid or whatever other lid which fits on top of he grinder. There was a video from @Cuprajake showing exactly that.
MediumRoastSteam 19”… This feels a git like an oversight. A British designed appliance (rather than a modified commercial grinder) which doesn’t fit well under most British kitchen cupboards.
MediumRoastSteam Cuprajake That’s straight up, it’s less when down, I don’t know the minimum opening for adding beans Yeah. It’s just a minor inconvenience. I wouldn’t be put off buying the grinder because of that. I just measured my kitchen cupboards height clearance and it’s just under 19”! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
thusband Lots of great suggestions here. Many thanks. Popcorning probably isn’t a problem as it isn’t in my Zero. I think the best solution is some felt pads on the legs so I could just slide it out to fill. I have them on my Bianca to fill the water tank and it slides nicely.
