It’s old, it has some mild plastic bubbling in the usual places (e.g. exit vent where you insert the chaff box), the gglass chamber has some browning from very old ingrained coffee as happens over time, and to my knowledge works absolutely fine. I thought it might help someone looking to dip their toes in the water with roasting and learning that part of the coffee journey as cheaply as it can possibly get.
Bought around 2007 and used for, I don’t know, 3 to 5 years as I then moved onto a Quest M3 that I imported and than a Dalian Amazon in 2016 (wow time flies).
I have original box, a manual, both standard chaff box and the larger chaff box I bought as an accessory. It is also fitted with power-mod which you can read about in Dave’s very old wiki from that era which means you cna control the voltage giving you headroom in colder weather and backing off in hotter weather or when the mains is high and as such is fitted with 230v element. I also have new and unused 240v element and then another one but I don’t know if that is 230v or 240v.
In the photo you can see it was really convenient in a kitchen if you add some ducting (I forget the diameter, Dave will know) via an adaptor and in those days we got them from Wickes I seem to recall. Neither the adaptor or ducting is supplied and you need to buy your own, otherwise just roast outside.
If this helps someone then email me and I’ll give you more location details but as a guide I’m not far from Box Hill in Surrey.
Cheers
Paul
