Sirais always used to be reliable, so if yours are 20 amp + rated or even better 30 amp, they should be fine. If another forum has been knocking them for reliability, it would depend on what factual data exists and in what context these failures are happening.. if it’s just because a particular machine has been upgraded to use SSRs…you might want to take it with a pinch of salt.
Certainly, a MA-TER stat with a decent quality AC/AC switched SSR of 40+ amps will work very well and be nice and quiet. You will need a genuine, proper one not an ebay knock off and depending on which panel you choose to heat sink to and use of thermal compound will affect the reliability. You can go higher than 40 amps to 60amps, but really if the heatsinking is not much good, it won’t make a huge difference in whether it goes pop or not.
