Their moderator is a conceited, rude P… Name begins with D… Here is a further extract from our conversation. Fyi, the HBer I sold the LE to is very very happy about the transaction and my extensive efforts to help him. I spent hours with him and then meticulously packing it.
I’m thinking about ripping Mr D a new one, via online post on HB. Then resigning from HB.
Here’s the extract from my reply PM:
I have been polite and respectful in my communications with you. Accordingly, I do not appreciate your reply that “BUY/SELL: I can live with a less active buy/sell forum. Honestly, your excessive price updates comes across as attempting to fleece ignorant buyers. Sure, you’ll make more money by posting a high price and moving it down when it’s ignored (i.e., you don’t find a chump).”
I am an honest and honourable person and do not try to “fleece” people or seek to find “chumps”. I have been and am fair with everyone that I deal with, both in the equipment that I occasionally resell and in my broader professional life. It is very easy for anyone to determine the retail and/or resale value of an item, so anyone that is even remotely capable of checking pricing knows what is being offered and its value. In fact, most price discussions happen off line. So … next time I post on HB I will likely post without a price, and anyone interested can PM me and we can then discuss.
BTW, you have rules that would censor me if I posted using the above “chump” or “fleese” words, so I do not understand how it is fine for you to use this language with me.
Anyway, yes, congratulations on the good work that HB has and has doing for the coffee community; you have and continue to be helpful. But a little less regulation would be a good thing. I know that you do not wish to be FB, but perhaps a little more flexibility would be good. Your call.
