Happened to walk into a Flying Tiger Copenhagen shop (apparently aka ‘Tiger’) while waiting for wife to make a phone call (never heard of them before but they seem to have shops all over Europe and UK). Found a car phone holder for £3 and a double-sided mirror (one side with 2X magnification) for £1 (can’t see the mirror on the web site):
The phone holder has one magnetic side and disk (to hold the phone), and a clip on the other side (for car air vents?). It actually seems well made, much better than the price might suggest. I thought I would have to dismantle or break off the clip part, stick the mirror on that side and use the magnet side to attach to the drip tray, but it turned out that the clip is perfect for the drip tray on Mara X (so probably good for Elizabeth and Bianca as well) – holds to the tray securely with no changes needed.
The mirror I almost didn’t get, because it’s flimsy, and I thought it would be too big (it’s just over 7cm in diameter). I also thought I will take it apart and only use the actual mirror, but I ended up just taking out the wire stand and using it as it is. The 2X magnification is perfect for a shot mirror: I can clearly see the bottom of the basket, slightly enlarged and takes most of the size of the mirror, like it has been made for this purpose.
The mirror must have some metal inside, because it holds to the magnet side of the holder, so I didn’t even bother to stick it on yet – just using it as it is for almost a week now and it hasn’t moved.
I am not sure I actually need a shot mirror, but for the £4 spent I would say this is a steal if anyone wants to try it.
