Hello everyone, I recently bought a used Lelit Elizabeth, knowing that it was v3. However, upon further research regarding the LCC Advanced settings and communicating with Lelit, it turned out that I have the v1 (Model PL92T, Serial No: 160233). It is possible to get the settings that are available in the v3, but I would have to change the LCC, which costs around 160 EUR with shipping. My question is, would I feel any difference between the two versions besides the LCC, which I can get a replacement part in the future, and the silent pump, which I don’t really mind at the moment. The issue is that in my country, the price of new machines is increased dramatically, and there is no used machine as this was the only one I saw being sold on the open market. Buying a machine online is also not an option because of the high shipping charge and customs + VAT, which is around %10.25. Would it be wise to return the machine, but then I would have to wait a couple of months until I can get a new one, or just bite the bullet and stick with this machine if there is no big difference that I will feel between v1 and v3.

OP is talking about the Elizabeth, not Bianca.

Not going into the financial aspects of the transaction, as this is something you’d need to assess yourself, but, if you bought a product thinking it was the Elizabeth V3, because it was advertised as Elizabeth V3, then that’s plain and simple false advertisement. Of course, the fact that you bought it used complicated things.

Personally, if it was me, I’d return it just based on the fact that that’s not what you wanted in the first place. But you have to consider the financial hit you’ll take in the process too, as well as when it comes to the time you want to move your machine on.

Besides the pump and the new LCC functionality, the other minor improvement is the easily adjustable OPV, which is not a straight forward replacement.

      Good luck.

        ahh my bad sory guys

Pretty shady for someone to advertise something for sale as a V3 when it us a V1.

Did you purchase through a vendor or site like ebay or directly from the seller?

Thank you for your input. I was also thinking about returning the product, as I initially thought it was v3 and not v1. Looking at the market in my country, I feel it would be a bad move to return to the machine as other machines are very expensive and do not justify their prices compared to the Elizabeth I got. My only concern at the moment is how easily it is to adjust the OPV as the pressure on the machine is relatively high, around 11 BARs; while I want it to be at 9 BARs, such change, I would not be able to do even with the v3 as such I will in the future take the machine to a service center to adjust it for me. If I want the other functions that the new LCC has, I will get a new LCC as what Lelit has suggested me to do, but I would think about that after six months as I do not feel the need to do it right away. I have spoken to the seller, and he also thought that the machine was a v3. It looks like the place that he bought it from gave him the wrong one, as he purchased a v3 and never noticed it.

Exo4tic I am located in Oman (Middle East).

            There are 3 main changes

            • the expansion valve (OPV), is more adjustable and accessible - this is not so critical
            • LCC software is much improved to address issues with the V1 machines. It was something I specified to Lelit (along with all the other stuff - If this is not done, then the steam preinfusion raises the brew temperature quite a lot and makes the system unstable. There were other software changes I asked for as well around preinfusion types, last shot protection etc..
            • The Lelit Quiet Pump - you can only buy this from authorised dealers or Lelit. The pump is NOT the same as the Olab branded quiet pump, it needs to be the version with the Lelit branding. The pump is quite expensive!

I would ask for a refund and return it…if that’s not possible a refund of the amount required to bring it up to V3 specification….plus 10% for the work required..
