Was in a supermarket yesterday which observed a two minute silence. Virtually all respected the silence except for one rat faced woman who noisily stomped across a line of stationary customers. No respect.

Systemic Same for me. I was accidentally in Sainsbury and they put a security guard on the entrance who locked the doors, brought a number of staff members forward and those trying to enter and leave all joined in

My experience was in Waitose. Said lady was probably in a hurry having to buy Parmesan for both houses.

Grew up near a De Havilland factory outside Chester. Went to an open day where an Avro Lancaster flew in. I remember being allowed to climb on board. Even as a 10 yr old, I was struck by how claustrophobic it seemed inside especially crawling down to the tail gunner’s position. Life expectancy of a new recruit was two weeks and overall crew losses during the war were 44%. Average age of crew was 21yrs. What a sacrifice.
