HarveyMushman I do think extreme variants of that mentality have historically held us back: ‘Things might be bad but at least they’re not as bad as ‘X
Of course, that’s not what I’m saying, as you know. I posted in response to a similar, but opposing sentiment - i.e. that the grass is always greener elsewhere…
I’m simply an advocate for understanding the world around us and our place in it. I find it interesting that people can have strongly held “feelings” that things are one way, to such an extent that even facts demonstrating that things are actually another way may not be enough to persuade them to reconsider or even acknowledge that their feelings aren’t based on facts. Humans are odd.
