Spookym The low water warning on my Elizabeth has failed to operate last week and then again today. So pump kept running and no water was there which probably isn’t good!. It definitely seems to be the float/magnet sensor bit. I shook the water tank around and could hear the float moving, and then put it empty back into machine and low water was detected so doesn’t seem to be a problem with the electrical sensor parts. So presumably it is just the float magnet bit getting stuck?. Wondered if anyone had experienced similar and if I should be doing anything to stop it getting stuck?. Machine is over 3 years old. Thx
MediumRoastSteam I found that, on my Elizabeth, the hose was a little too short - meaning the machine would run out of water before the sensor triggered. It was easy enough to create a little extension which reaches the bottom of the tank.
Spookym MediumRoastSteam not had that problem. This was definitely sensor related as there was no water left in the tank at all!
DavecUK Spookym I can’t remember and my Elizabeth is boxed up. Can you take a photo of the float sensor setup and post it here please.
Spookym DavecUK Difficult to photo and see anything, but this image is from a lelit video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6d7ID8t5Jk&t=25s) that I found when trying to work out what is going on and shows the type of sensor. I am thinking that either something may be clogging the float slightly to stop it coming down, or the magnet has lost strength, but unsure if either of these is likely! thanks
DavecUK Spookym Spookym I am thinking that either something may be clogging the float slightly to stop it coming down, or the magnet has lost strength, but unsure if either of these is likely! thanks it could be either of the things you mention, it might even be that the sensor has come loose a little or shifted, so it’s worth having a quick look at that. I would check the sensor visually….and the tank is upright not tilted for any reason…although I can’t think why it would be.
