Just read recently about this and finally decided to try it.
My experience is positive so far, what I tried:
Beans: Sweet shop from Square Mile roasted on 29 Dec
17g in, 51g out, 17 sec, 93 ‘C
Grinder DF64 default burrs, Machine Silvia Pro
I liked the result, I keep making this for the last 3 days or so. It is of course more thin but a lot more bright and sweet than my average 1:2, or 1:2.5 25 sec I used before.
I know the recipe might not be text book turbo shot but this is how it worked for me. I tried decreasing the dose to 15g but started to get some over extracted taste.
I have no way of controlling or monitoring the pressure tho.
One thing that I am sure of is that I won’t be using naked portafilter for this. It is spraying like crazy and with the huge flow there is nothing interesting to see there anyway. I have no idea if the spraying means serious channeling and I have not tasted this type of shot anywhere else to compare with.
Anyone else has experience with this and want to share it? Did you try it and get anything good?
