Hi, got a bottomless pf and an ims basket for my Bambino plus and shots are very fast, rushing out in like 17 secs! Is it a feature of these baskets? Smart grinder pro set on 3 !

depends on the basket, which ims model did you buy ? you will need to go finer for some of them,

No, it’s not a feature of the baskets. If your coffee is good and fresh, most likely you need to adjust the grind.

17 gms fresh good coffee, 1zpresso J ultra right at the beginning of the espresso range! Or we have the SGP on grind size 3, thanks

The 1zp is a much better grinder for your needs and I’d concentrate on that.
It will give much better espresso grind as it’s designed for that .
Not sure the sage was actually designed 😁🫣😜

Post a photo of your portafilter after tamping. You may need 1g or so extra In That basket

The SGP might not be able to go fine enough, but you can either up your dose or grind finer

What have your timings been previous to the new basket? I have the Sage Barista Pro and have struggled to get balanced shots that are pulled beyond the 22 second mark*. So not sure if this is just a feature of the Sage machines!

*18g in 45g out, good coffee with the Sculptor 078s, WDT and the ol lance hendrick shake

Hi, yes, SGP down to 2 and 1zpresso down to finest espresso range, 17gm in 40gm out in 30 secs. I’m happy with that . Anyone know if there is a uk supplier for an appa makes wdt tool as recommended by Lance Hendricks, thanks

There are 100s of WDT tools available. From your local espresso equipment store. Or Etsy. Or Amazon. Or make your own with a cork.

IMHO the 0.35mm acupuncture needles work best. No more than 6, spaced well apart. Then now there is the Blind Shaker mania; I’m not sold on that yet. It never ends (wanna buy a spirograph from me 😁).

Hi, yes they have the appa makes on etsy but charge £24 postage! I do have a 5 prong £5 from ebay. I’ve ordered an 8 prong from China which looks very like the appa makes product. I decided yesterday I would stop using my distributor/ tamp tool and stick with the wdt and my ikape self levelling, spring loaded tamper ! I realise there are limitations with the bambino plus but the coffee can be very tasty, cheers
