NotMilk? NotMilk Barista?

Has anyone tried either of these alternative milks? How close to dairy milk does each of these taste? Any off tastes or unusual tastes? Can I make a thick cappuccino microfoam with it? Can I make good latte microfoam with it? Should I get the Notmilk or Notmilk Barista?

Is there another product that tastes better? I really like the taste of milk but for medical reasons must test the removal of milk from my diet.

And so far I don’t like the taste of Silk Almond or Silk Soya or NextMilk in my coffee. I am trying some oat based milks for taste in coffee.

JHCCoffee not sure what you get over in your neck of the woods - disclaimer: I don’t use them - but over here in the UK it seems that Oatly Barista edition is a very popular product.

Yeah Oatly Barista is our favourite by a country mile but we’re both vegan and I haven’t had dairy for about 30 years so can’t comment on how close it is in flavour.

Steams well though, which is where a lot of them fall flat.

We get through 7 cartons a week 😂

None of them taste like milk IMO so you almost need to forget that criteria. That’s not to say that they taste bad, but you will taste a difference so manage your expectations accordingly.

Oatly and Pacific Foods are my favorites at the moment. I don’t care for Chobani (extra creamy) or Califa. I liked the taste of Minor Figures when I tried it at SCA but haven’t tried steaming with it myself. Added bonus, Oatly’s ice creams are solid as well. I haven’t had an almond, macadamia, pea protein or soy milk that I liked yet for steaming

    Haven’t tried notmilk yet..

    Any reviews?

Has anyone tried Myracle Kitchen’s Barista Mylk, developed in collaboration with James Hoffman. Or know of any cafes that use it, that I can ask about it?

What does it taste like in espresso (cappuccino or latte)? Does it taste close to dairy? If not, what flavour notes does it impart? Or is it neutral in flavour? How well does it make cappuccino micro foam? Or late micro foam?

I can get it in Canada but it only is available in 6 packs for $50 CDN + tax. So I would prefer to have a better sense of whether I’d like it.

That’s almost double the price it is here in the UK. I’ve not tried it but that’s pretty crazy money for a milk alternative.

Can you get Oatly Barista in Canada? It’s far and away the best milk alternative for coffee. Steams well (that’s the whole point of it compared to the non-barista versions).

I’m not sure any will taste like dairy milk but they do taste great in coffee. I know a lot of non-vegans that drink it in coffee because they prefer the taste. My parents for one, who are about the last people in the world likely to go vegan…
