So I was curious as to why the grinder and blog post was removed from BB website so decided to call them.

Turns out the manufacturer/supplier of the DF range of grinders saw they were selling a competitor and said remove it from sale or we cancel our contract with you! Naturally the DF deal is more lucrative so BB removed it.

They did tell me they haven’t sold all their expected delivery so if people do still want one give them a ring.

Makes them limited edition now 😂

Interesting. I wonder if it will be stocked by any other UK retailers.

Does anyone know if the grinder is covered by the standard 2 year warranty? I think I saw a 12 month warranty on the details when I looked but wasn’t clear if the standard 2 year warranty applied to this grinder

It irritates me that the larger grinder company can control/threaten retailers this way. Especially as the T64 is such a good grinder. It’s been the best 64mm I have used to date!

We don’t usually know about it, but I’m quite confident that this sort of thing is happening around us all the time; in the supermarket, pub, shop, web - everywhere. Whoever is big enough to have the power uses it to control the market in their favour. The best interest of the consumer is rarely the top priority.

And I generally don’t recommend to buy expensive stuffs from Aliexpress, because it is basically without any meaningful support or warranty. Sure you can buy things that do not need warranty, and they can be ½ price of Amazon, but expect long shipping time and no return even if you regret the purchase.
I bought quite many small stuffs by Timemore/3MH-Bomber from Aliexpress myself, but would not buy the grinder in question from it. Not unless it’s under $400 with sales and coupon.

Exactly this. Although one could easily think it was the same company (as I did). I wonder if part of the issue was the Bella Barista ’Solo" brand that they use on both grinders
