Has anyone seen the above? It looks like a commercial replacement for the Mythos but I know nothing about it

Its insides and external look almost exactly like a Personal Computer (pc) tower casing. Surely they could have tried harder to give it a more ergonomic and aesthetically distinctive design than that. Even the mythos thar doesn’t really look that great, looks much better to my eyes than this.

If thar was the extent of their ambitions, then that is really disappointing for an Italian coffee machine maker in a country where good design is so admired.

I think Mythos just about got away with its design as it doesn’t look hugely out of place next to VA’s commercial machines. But yeah, this one looks very unusual and seems to be taller than most commercial machines too.

Feels like it would be at home in an ultra-high volume airport cafe or train station hatch where efficiency is more important than how it looks in a trendy open-bar cafe.

Your opinion certainly rules where you are concerned as it should - it does not for me or anyone who thinks like me though…for eureka sake they should hope there are many more cafe owners who have your aesthetic preferences!

chlorox I doubt cafe owners would share your concerns on aesthetics….the workflow on a Mythos is superb in a cafe environment, and with all the electronic wizardry the prometheus has it sounds like a Mythos on steroids!

I think the look is important to many leading cafe’s nowadays as the machine and grinders become the centerpiece of the cafe. Having a grinder that looks like a pc from the back on the counter isn’t going to enhance the look of the slayer sitting on the counter…moreover I notice on the videos there is a significant lag on the touchscreen response time …

chlorox Did you know, that if for example, a coffee chain selling one brand of coffee bean, the guy in charge can make dialling in changes to his machine, then at the press of a button send those new settings to every Prometheus the chain have where it is implemented immediately? A lot of Artisan cafes have one or two. branches. Costa in 2022 had over 3800. This is a more informative video

I agree that for such chain stores like star bucks or Costa coffee, I can understand the attraction of such a machine - these operations run like a factory assembly lines and they don’t care really about the quality of their coffee ultimately in the same way as specialty coffee and boutique cafe’s do. Those type of places weren’t what I was thinking of though when i was referring to cafe owners looking at the aesthetics of the grinder.
