Hi Everyone

We’re planning a major house refurb inc water purification. I have two ACS Espresso machines which I plan to plumb in. Recommendations for water purification systems muchly appreciated!!

I’ve seen whole house filters and a non salt water softener from Osmio that could be worth investigating. It mentions that you get filtered drinking water from any tap, but no mention of the average TDS it would be.

I’ll send an email and report back if anyone is interested.

Verion Whole house systems don’t typically reduce hardness & alkalinity, or even necessarily TDS (what you need for coffee & machines), unless you also incorporate a softener.

What does your water supplier say about your mains supply? (An in depth report would be good).

MWJB I need to look at the new water supplier as I’m about to move house but the water will be hard if not very hard.

I was under the assumption that combining a non salt softener with a whole house softener would bring the water tds, hardness, etc to much lower than I think it currently is which is 350.

Verion Non salt softeners don’t reduce total hardness, they treat temporary hardness and have temperature & water hardness limitations.

If your water is very hard you’ll want a salt softener & RO.

Having to say am very pleased with quality of RO water as it flushes automatically and there is not funny taste at all.

Plus filter change is 1 minute job. I use a mineralisation filter after the system .

From time to time they giving big discounts .

What’s your tap water hardness please? Most of the ROs draw a like with hardness below 175/250 ppm.

Our set up is mains —> softener —> Osmio Zero.

LMSC just checked it - 185ppm .

I installed a remineralisation filter after the RO system with possibility to by by-passed .

From RO system water is flowing with 10ppm but after the filter is 60ppm so I us it for the coffee machine because think it’s safe.

For drinking we add more minerals .

Thank you! We are looking at RO with mineralisation for London water with hardnesss between 250 ppm and 300 ppm. Can’t put any softener or plumbed as it is rental. 😊
