Is it ok to show off how lucky we are to those who were not so lucky?
Avro went under shortly after we fixed for a new term. We got a message: don’t panic, we are looking after you, no need to do anything. Don’t switch supplier, and especially - don’t cancel your direct debit.
With this reassuring information I immediately panicked, switched supplier and cancelled my direct debit. Everyone recommended to not fix and stay on variable, but suppliers were only offering fixed tariffs to new customers, so I had no choice and this is what I got.
Good job I cancelled the direct debit too, as a few days later Avro tried to put their hand in my pocket and were denied. I am still waiting for the final bill and refund of the balance they owe me.
