I’ve heard of people using ‘Durgol Fast Descaler’ which is available on Amazon.
I’ve used my Moccamaster for nearly 4 years now with just tap water, never descaled and haven’t had any problems so far. That’s as a southerner too where it’s a wonder the water gets through the pipes in liquid form.
Not that I’d recommend doing that necessarily. The only thing I’d say is that the warranty is probably only valid if you descale as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
