Not that I’ve used a 78 or 78s (I have a 64s and only grind for espresso so far) but there’s some oddities about that post. E.g.
Also when you pull the dosing cup out there are always some grinds on the base. Then you have to return the cup and use their glorified knocker to get out the rest.
I would suggest using the ‘glorified knocker’ before you take the cup out but it seems so obvious that I might be missing something! Why take it out before you finish and then put it back?
Secondly it’s messy, even with the lid halfway on it spits fragments out the back underneath and the front
Consider trying using the lid all the way on?!
I run mine on low RPM and have almost managed to stall it once ever (it got through it before I could do anything to help, no idea what one thing in that grind made it struggle), but maybe they use trickier roasts than I do.
I was prepared to have problems with the 64s, it being a kickstarter and as such a bit of a gamble. In the end though my experience matched up with Hoffman in his roundup video from a while back, the minor annoyances of it don’t really register significantly.
