HarveyMushman Is it the 155 or larger 185?
I’ve never noticed a consistent, significant difference in brew characteristics, perhaps very slightly less pronounced acidity.
Neither have I seen any reason that it suits darker coffees.
The Wave has more self regulation than a V60, so whilst you don’t need to change grind size, or ratio, you may need to adjust the pour regime. At a push, with the 185, you can even grind very fine, bloom with a stir, leave for 90s then add all remaining water with a regular kettle in 5-10s.
The shallower bed depth means that it can be easier to kick up silt and maybe this is why you are seeing more moutheel? A way to get around this is to maybe space the pours further apart and once the bed is thoroughly wetted after blooming/1st pour, switch to centre pours.
These 185 brews shown were 13.5g:225g but I more typically brew at 13.8g:200g nowadays.
Grind size is medium pour over, as you might use with a 6-7 pour 1 mug V60 recipe. So between 8% % 13% at 400Kruve.
