Great ! I have had one. I have a link somewhere to a total strip down and rebuild. Does your boiler have asbestos?
PS Do you mis spell headings for fun or does dyslexia rule, ko? Do you know how to age it? It is the first two numbers in the serial number. Yours is a ’67 model from 1977. Do you know its history as the serial plate says 110 volt? The element is very swappable
Grahamsphillips - Just don’t plug it… It’s 110V!
Thanks Dave
Well the Londinii are long gone but I’ve always fancied a Cremina!
Yeah I know it’s 110v. I’ll have to decide whether to change the element or use a transformer
Grahamsphillips - Element, light, and pressure stat if it has one. Also not sure if the wiring will be the right gauge. Anyway, good luck!
Grahamsphillips Unless you are doing a full strip down, I would go the transformer route. A rebuild will cost a lot of money and that is assuming you do the work. I would scratch the itch as cheaply as possible
dfk41 No Dave. It was one of those serendipitous ebay finds. We touring in Europe and it came up on eBay. I took a punt and paid for it unseen. We only collected it yesterday from somewhere in North Paris. It belonged to the vendor’s grandmother so I reckon it’s been in the family from new. Probs not been run for yonks. I’ve long fancied a Cremina project (damn predictive text! “Cream-Ina”. Anyway I’ll do some dismantling when we get home and decide what next. I quite fancy the ideal of stripping it and replacing the gaskets etc etc. I know Bella Barista are Olympia stockists now so they should be able to get all the parts?
Grahamsphillips You could try them but I doubt they will carry much. There is a comprehensive old machine stockist in the US. It is run by Orphan Espresso. They have an extensive library and carry all spares, remembering yours is also a 110 volt. Postage is steep hence the suggestion get all parts in one go. Francesco is also a mine of info
Yes. Wise advice. Thanks. I’ll undress her when I get home!
dfk41 you sent it to me by mistake 🥰

Adrianmsmith no mistake! He’s assuming it’ll end up in your portfolio once I’ve finished playing with it!!
