delta76 It was on standby mode and suddenly I had a power outage, which the main switch jumped. i smelled burn plastic but could not locate it. It turned out it was from my belove machine. The LCC is all black, no sound of pump whatsoever when I tried to turn it on. I tried to remove the top cover and everything looks …fine for me. No sign of burning that I could see.
Just a few simple questions
- When you say the main switch, do you mean the breaker in the fusebox on the particular circuit, or the main fuse box 60/100 amp breaker cutting power to the whole house (or if a split load unit, to the kitchen_?
- If it is a fuse box breaker, is it a normal MCB or RCCBO
- Have you checked the mains lead, the socket on the Bianca where it plugs in, and the house plug socket.
My main suspicion is your terminology isa bit loose, you had an overcurrent situation not an earth to ground fault e.g. failed heating element. This is because you were able to plug it in again without it instantly tripping (assumption you have an RCD). When you said power outage, you didn’t mean that you had a power cut, you meant the power to the machine failed, or the entire house tripped out etc..?
Point 3 something has arced, causing the fuse to trip and hence the burnt smell (but not from inside the machine). So these are the first places to look for evidence.
P.S. Also check the jack lead from the tank is properly plugged in.
P.P.S. If the fuse box question is too difficult, upload a photo showing which breaker failed.
