When I recommenced making coffee it was just before being ill for several weeks during which I took time off from work. While off, I went to check on something related to La Pavoni, noted that several of the contributors were clearly highly intelligent, thoughtful, well-informed and decided to read more of their posts.
What I found was most began their participation in 2005 – 2006. I read several hundred threads in mainly chronological sequence. The more I learned the more my curiosity was stimulated, and the list of informed participants grew somewhat. It’s how I found Dave and Jake.
Now, as far as gear goes, I’m entirely satiated. I am currently condensing my notes so in a month or so technique will be in my past as well. Now my sole interest is coffee beans.
No you do not need to do this to make coffee, however I rarely do things by halves but do not actually care if others choose to do so.
