My grinder is the E37S 83mm flat, it’s a pretty good grinder, but I do find some coffee fails to slide down the chute (which is annoying seeing as you’re paying on demand money). I still WDT with one of those Chinese Londinium WDT knockoffs. Sometimes I use it to hoick the stuck grinds out of the chute, and stir/level before tamping. I find it helps with consistency compared to not doing so. But I have had perfectly good shots where I’ve not used it, and some sinkers even though I did. It’s not a magic wand but I think it’s worth it overall.
