whinmoor85 Anyone got a recommendation for a good dark roast? I want to dust off the Niche Zero and get back in to espresso again, been on a filter kick for the past six months. I was having a look at this one although they’ve labelled it as medium. https://www.smithstreetcoffeeroasters.co.uk/product-page/dark-peak-classic-espresso-blend
dfk41 whinmoor85 It sounds like we have been on a similar journey! I have gone back to medium/plus roasting and my go to was always Coffee Compass. I am currently drinking Java Jampit. You need to experiment with it a bit to get the grinds right but when you do you get a thick gloupy pour!
Tal I’ve been enjoying coffee compasses Brighton Lanes, Jampit hit and sweet bourbon. I found Hill and valley rather punchy! Also been liking Rave Chatswood no6, signature no1 and their Mocha Java no3.
dang2484 I second Rave and love the Italian Job which is a medium/dark roast. Extract are good as well and do some nice espresso roasts -https://extractcoffee.co.uk/shop/help-me-choose/coffee-by-roast/espresso-roast-coffee/
whinmoor85 Thanks for the suggestions everyone. @dfk41 - we’ve had similar but different journeys. I believe you’re more dark espresso based drinks guy who’s dipped his toes in light roast filter, where I’ve always been filter first but dark roast espresso isn’t something I’ve explored much at home.
