Subscription recommendation

I’m currently with rave roasters but they don’t supply me with enough light roasts , which subscription you recommend for espresso light -medium roast .

MuddyOne - give up on the sub. Just order some from Foundry Coffee Roasters if you
want something as a light/medium coffee. And go from there. Dark Arts also do good ones.

I tend to go for single origins rather than blends.

MuddyOne - a sub is a business model. You are technically “tied in”. They know how much coffee they need to roast in advance and have a more predictable cash flow.

I prefer to explore and shop around for what I want, not what a roaster thinks I might like.

but if a sub is what you prefer, then I can’t see why it should be any different in the grand scheme of things, as long as you are happy with the roaster and their offerings… then it should be all good.

It’s just convenient, different beans each delivery and automatic payment with quick shipping.

MuddyOne - there are many around. You need to find what works for you. Foundry has been one which never ever let me down for the beans I like.

But my tastebuds are mine, not yours. So it’s important you try things out.

You need to keep an eye on this forum, like the “what in your cup this morning” thread.

Few roaster which spring to mind, not in any particular order and not necessarily the ones I’d rely one - but had good coffee from:

Coffee Compass (darker roast)
North Star
Dark Woods
Dark Arts
Rave
Crafthouse

There are many others, which I had coffee from them once: Pharmacie, Kiss the Hippo, etc, etc….

MediumRoastSteam I just received first pack from foundry yet to try it but, they seem to Change their coffee only every month , you order not via subscription yes?

I’ve been using Gustatory which is a multi roaster subscription. I enjoy the plus 87 subscription as it’s had lots of interesting light roasts from around the world. The pricing isn’t too bad at £11.75 per 250g bag plus shipping - website is a bit mind bending to use. I’m just lazy now and happy to out source decision making.

Their decaf sub is one of the better decaf ones I’ve tried (not all just Colombian decafs from huila with different roaster brands on them) but still not convinced there is actually anything out there interesting decaf wise.

Started a few subs this year and gradually cancelled /paused them all bar Hard Lines. Consistently excellent.
I drink aero press black and flat whites- these beans serve both drinks very well. 👌

I have a regular yet manually triggered premium subscription with ‘Missing Bean’ of Oxford and have not had a bad 1kg bag yet. The Christmas blend is very fruity if you like that. Tends to be more interesting coffees. £30 quid delivered Royal Mail. I order through a link when I want it. The choice is theirs on what they send me.
