Wondering if anyone has tried the new Breville / Sage Oracle Jet for medium to dark roasts. Since Breville acquired Baratza, their burrs should be better than in previous machines.

Wondering how it compares to a dedicated grinder + espresso machine combo? … I know we’re all coffee nerds here so maybe the Oracle doesn’t appeal to most on this forum.
But would be curious to know especially with the automated milk frothing system.

drdre89 Baratza use Etzinger burrs. The Sage Barista Pro, Barista Touch & Oracle Touch already use Etzinger burrs, so it’s not clear to me that there would be any difference because of the Baratza aquisition.

I had two Baratza Sette’s. Both died way too early. Both were an impossible pain to deep clean. Easy to use, though. Easy to change the burr settings.

Breville likely added plastic parts, so probably even more prone to failure.

    Happy with my Niche Zero.

JHCCoffee Same story for my Sette, an electronic failure in my case, a shame because the Encore & Virtuoso seemed to have good reputations.

It seems Singledosebrew just launched a titanium replacement burr for Breville thats even cheaper than the ones from Baratza or Breville.. can be considered if you are looking to swap to a more robust burr for even light roasts https://singledosebrew.com/p/tburr
