Lelit Mara X PL62X strange pump pressure behaviour + noise

Hi,

Should I start to worry about this? I have sometimes a strange noise and weird bouncing gauge reading on the pump pressure as per the enclosed video.
It is like the pump is forcing after the pre-infusion and struggle to rise the water pressure. It is not doing this all the time but looks very random.

Yes. When was the last time you lubricated the cam? Your lever is very squeaky.

As for that noise… that’s the pre-infusion valve opening. But it must be totally stripped out of lubricant, therefore it’s sticking and rubbing.

Time for that group to have some love. 👍

Well as far as I know the lever is normally lubricated by coffee oils once you pull out some shots. I perform regular backflush cleanings of the group head and indeed the lever feel more stiff after that.

Could you point me to this pre-infusion valve? Where I can find it inside the machine for a good cleaning/lubrication?

Which lubricant to use? I believe food lubricant?
