Yes,since breaking my elbow a few years ago and therefore unable to knead yeasted doughs, the Ankarsrum was and is now invaluable.
In fact, I’ve got some Chelsea bun dough proving in it at this very moment.
What I like about it is the capacity, being able to make up to 5kg of dough which is great for batch bread making. The open top which is so easy for adding ingredients and the fact once the dough is kneaded, you just remove the scraper and kneading roller, pop the lid on and let it prove.
When looking to replace my old mum’s kenwood, I considered other well known premium branded mixers like the Kitchen Aid but I read that they were not built like they were in the olden days or as reliable, whereas Ankarsrum seem to have kept the build quality as a priority since it’s inception about 80 years ago. It is built like a tank, has a powerful motor and I have seen machines that are over 50 years old still going strong. It is manufactured and built in Sweden comes with a 7 year warranty that’s how confident they are.
Of course, what really sets it apart form other mixers is the fact the bowl rotates which is a bit strange, but it works.
