Lelit Elizabeth error 3

Hi!

When I turn on the machine after a long stop, the pump keeps turning for a while until error 3 is shown.

While the pump is running, water is flowing through the adjustable pressure valve back to the water tank. The problem seems to resolve when I hear a click of the solenoid valve (which seems to occur when the steam boiler is hot enough…).

I first thought about malfunctioning of the adjustable pressure valve, but after dismantling it and removing all scale built up, the problem remains.

My doubt are now on the solenoid valve, but before dismantling it, I’d like to know if anyone experienced similar problem, and if the problem could be somewhere in the wiring, sensors or controls.

Allbrews If you put the machine in eco mode (no steam boiler) - do you still have the problem? If not, could it be that the boiler is overfilling (i.e.: scale in the fill sensor)? - Just a guess.

Based on the info provided and with the right “words” in Google, I’ve found the following video which was very helpful:

For me, it turned out that the problem was a ground fault with the “black wire” identified in the video. It is strange that a ground fault suddenly occur after more than 3 years of use… maybe the elf on the shelf…?!?
