Doram Hotmetal I was a bit slow getting my phone out and the dreaded bubbles appeared How fresh is the coffee? The bubbles might be an indication that there is gas in the baens so they might benefit from a bit more resting.
Hotmetal Fair point Mr D. Yes, probably wants a few more days for espresso. Probably still gassing off. I had frozen it so in me head it was rested but only out of the freezer a couple of days and went in as soon as it arrived, valve taped up. You might be right.
Hotmetal Bubbles seem less of a problem now so perhaps the extra time has let the gas out. Freezing the beans (which I don’t normally do) had messed up my resting calculations.
DavecUK I rarely make milk drinks and I do like them hotter than they should be. I do a double shot and about 80ml milk, perhaps 100ml tops. I made a latte yesterday and another today. Bit rubbish, but I do need to practice.
Amberale dfk41 I reckon I could make yours look good. I have steadfastly (pigheadedly?) refused to learn to draw things on coffee.
JammyDodger That’s better! Unless… unless there’s some sort of micropeen/elephantitis of the ballbag combo going on, let’s just enjoy it and move on
JammyDodger I made the mistake of asking my four year old what I should draw on my coffee this morning… in case anyone is wondering, it’s a car
Emc2 My take on how to foam milk. I post this with some trepidation as I am certain there are others in this group who are really skilled. But this is fairly basic stuff that should hopefully help beginners. How to foam milk
DavecUK Emc2 Good video…I’d get that caution sticker of the group head ASAP with some “goo gone” or similar before it goes black/etches the group head chrome. I use this: https://tinyurl.com/372a4bma
Emc2 DavecUK thanks for the warning. I didn’t realise it could damage the chrome. I used neat vinegar which did the job.
