How is filling the water tank under the cabinet? I hear the machine is pretty heft. Is it tough to slide around on the counter?

DLTBGYD yeah you cannot slide this machine about, it's heavy. I bought a funnel to fill it when I was in my previous house that had wall cabinets above. You could try putting something on the feet to make it easier maybe. In my current house I have free access which is probably needed so you can take the tank out for cleaning or running the descaling program.

DLTBGYD if you're looking at this machine I wonder if it's worth it now the Elizabeth 3 is out. That machine has some decent flow profiling and is that little bit more compact and therefore manoeuvrable! I love my Coast don't get me wrong, but I would probably buy that looking at Coffee Kev's review - Elizabeth3 review

Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity did the funnel work reasonably well for you? That would probably be my first solution.

The Elizabeth3 definitely looks interesting. Probably won't be available in my market (North America) until sometime next year. I also wonder if pressure profiling via modulating power to the pump would mean a lot of wear and tear on the pump and long terms problems compared to the Arkel's manual manipulation of the flow via the dedicated needle value? I guess we are always faced with trade offs.

thetravdog like the look of elizabeth 3 I really wanted to avoid boilers but seems i may have to cave, I'm looking to move from an oracle jet and the elizabeth 3 or profitec move 2.0 are on my radar. One has brew by weight one has flow profiling I'm pretty much a noob but want a machine that is a bit less well consumer and a little more prosumer that i can grow with.

I do worry though about buying to early had an email from coffee kev saying he has some reviews coming out of machines that he feels may cause a stir but can not mention until November.

Then I watch a YouTube video of artisan roasters lelitvfactoryy tour saying there maybe more to come this was after they acknowledged the upcoming Victoria and Elizabeth with pagia.

Will maybe lelit have incoming updates with brew by weight and what could these machines be that Kev appears to be under embargo for, I imagine a number will be Chinese brands including the gemali whale and such. Fomo…..

Dazzer12 yeah obviously brew by weight would be superb and you wonder if Gemelai will release something with that too. But right now for a non boiler machine it's probably only a decent that would do that. The new Fellow ES1 doesn't have it but it would not surprise me if they didn't release a Fellow espresso scale for it one day!

DLTBGYD the funnel works up to a point. I like to clean the water tank every time it empties which is usually every couple of weeks I think. It's much more convenient to just have access to it, and it's tall and thin, same height as the machine without the feet. So I think you would need to put some felt on the feet or something so you could slide it about more readily
